{"id":2252,"date":"2018-07-16T09:18:41","date_gmt":"2018-07-16T09:18:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/servireach.com\/?p=2252"},"modified":"2018-07-16T09:18:41","modified_gmt":"2018-07-16T09:18:41","slug":"reach-what-is-reach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/servireach.com\/en\/blog\/reach-what-is-reach\/","title":{"rendered":"REACH?&#8230; What is REACH?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>What is REACH?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>REACH is a European Union Regulation (Regulation (EC) No. 1907\/2006) implemented to ensure the safety of chemicals for the human health and the environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does it mean REACH?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does REACH Regulation set?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>REACH sets up the procedures for the compilation and evaluation of all data related to the properties and hazards of chemicals.<\/p>\n<p>Companies can identify their obligations depending on their role and activity. Some of these obligations are described below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>REACH Registration<\/li>\n<li>Safety Data Sheets<\/li>\n<li>Restriction of Substances<\/li>\n<li>Substances subjected to authorisation<\/li>\n<li>Notification of substances contained in articles<\/li>\n<li>Communication in the supply chain (IV Title)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Who is affected by REACH Regulation?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>REACH is a cross-regulation affecting &#8211; more or less directly &#8211; the whole industry, even companies that do not belong to the chemical industry.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on their activity, REACH Regulation sets different roles for the companies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Manufacturer<\/strong> \u2013 company that produces a chemical substance for its private use or intended to be used by third parties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Importer<\/strong> \u2013 company that introduces a chemical substance to the European Union or EEA (European Economic Area) as itself or inside a mixture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Downstream user<\/strong> \u2013 company that uses chemical products without being a manufacturer nor an importer. Downstream users must check their obligations regarding the manipulation of any chemical product.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Only Representative<\/strong> \u2013 Natural person or legal entity established in the EEA and appointed by a non-EU company as its Only Representative according to REACH, with the aim of complying all obligations related to the importer role.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Articles provider<\/strong> \u2013 Manufacturers or importers of articles, downstream users, distributors or other agents implied in the supply chain that commercialise an article.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Distributor<\/strong> \u2013 company whose only activity resides in the storage and commercialisation of chemical substances or mixtures without using them in any way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to know which roles apply to your company and therefore which obligations you must accomplish do not hesitate to ask us at <a href=\"mailto:hello@servireach.com\">hello@servireach.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is REACH?
