However, one of the most common questions companies ask is: how much does this registration cost? <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no single fixed cost, as it depends on different technical, administrative and economic factors.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Factors that influence the registration cost<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cost of registering a substance under REACH may vary mainly depending on:<\/p>\n\n<ul style=\"line-height:1.6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>tonnage band<\/strong> of the substance: 1-10 t\/year, 10-100 t\/year, 100-1,000 t\/year or more than 1,000 t\/year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>size of the company<\/strong>, as fee reductions are available for SMEs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The availability of data on the substance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in a <strong>joint submission<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li style=\"line-height:1.6\">The need to access existing data through a Letter of Access, or <strong>LoA<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:33px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Characterisation testing<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before starting the <a href=\"https:\/\/servireach.com\/en\/consultancy\/reach\/#registroreach\">REACH registration<\/a> process, it is necessary to correctly determine the identity of the substance. The Lead Registrant is responsible for submitting the jointly required information on behalf of all co-registrants, which can significantly reduce the overall cost of registration. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the substance has already been registered by other companies, you will normally need to purchase a Letter of Access (LoA), which grants the right to refer to the studies included in the joint registration dossier.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otherwise, you will need to generate the required information yourself, using appropriate in silico, in vitro and, where necessary, in vivo testing strategies.<ins><\/ins><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cost of a Letter of Access can vary considerably depending on several factors, including the substance itself, the tonnage band, the number of co-registrants, the quantity and type of data available, and the data-sharing agreements established between the participating companies.
