To this end, on 31 December 2008, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/buscar\/doc.php?id=DOUE-L-2008-82637\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>European Commission published Regulation (EC) 1272\/2008<\/em><\/a> (CLP Regulation) on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, which adopted the new classification criteria proposed by the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unece.org\/trans\/danger\/publi\/ghs\/ghs_welcome_e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS)<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7fc7499 e-con-full e-flex 67\/548\/EEC and 1999\/45\/EC<\/em>, obliging the chemical industry to reclassify all its products into new hazard classes and categories and to change the contents of its safety data sheets and labels.<\/p><p>These new criteria should apply to all substances and mixtures placed on the market in the European Union, with the exception of a few specific cases which may be covered by more specific classification and labelling rules, such as medicinal products, food additives, etc.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5ceed32 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5ceed32\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>According to Article 45 of the CLP Regulation, companies marketing mixtures hazardous to health and\/or with physical hazards are required to notify these to the Poison Centres established in each of the member states (e.g. <em>Spanish National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences<\/em> (INTYCF, Spain)).<\/p><p>In addition, companies manufacturing or importing substances subject to REACH Registration and\/or classified as hazardous have one month from the date of placing on the market to notify their substances to the<a href=\"https:\/\/echa.europa.eu\/es\/information-on-chemicals\/cl-inventory-database\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Classification and Labelling Inventory of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
